Frequently Asked Questions
Here are the answers to some of the most commonly asked questions! If you don't find your question listed here, just ask one of the members or Pastor Rob Kirk.
What time is CPUMC's Worship Service?
Worship is on Sundays at 10:00 AM. Children are included at the beginning of the service, and then excused to Kid's Church after the children's message. Youth are invited to go to Say 'n Pray, to pray and share with other youth.
Is there child care and where is it?
Quality nursery care is available from 9:45 AM - 11:15 AM. When facing the sanctuary main doors, the nursery is to your left. Infants and toddlers too young to participate in Kids' Church are very welcome in our nursery. All of our staff have undergone security precautions, and they have been trained in CPR/First Aid.
What's the difference between Methodists and all the other church denominations?
The Methodist Church is one of the Protestant churches.
It started as a revival within the Church of England led by John and Charles Wesley in the 18th century. The Wesley brothers emphasized a regular discipline of Bible study, prayer, fasting, and outreach to the poor. These methodical practices led to their nickname: "Methodists".
United Methodists are unique in a number of ways:
We insist that personal spirituality and social responsibility cannot be separated; in the end how we live our lives expresses our true religion.
We tolerate a certain amount of diversity of thought: some United Methodists are theologically liberal and some are theologically conservative.
We are an "open communion" church: all people regardless of church membership are welcome to participate in the programs and ministry of the church.
We are a "connectional" church: interconnected by a common structure and network of resources to 38,000 other United Methodist churches in North America and many more around the world.
